Chic Backpacks: The Ideal Carry-On

In the midst of planning an upcoming weekend getaway, I've became obsessed with the idea of carrying a chic leather backpack as my flight carry-on, and as a stylish, but practical accessory I can tote around, hands-free, while exploring a new city.
With quality backpacks asserting themselves as a current trend, there's an incredible selection of these ergonomic, yet stylish bags, both in stores and online. I love the idea of minimalist packing when it comes to travelling, and a mid-size backpack with lots of pockets could very well be all I need for a quick weekend getaway - so long as I'm able to limit my shopping at my destination! I've currated my favourite knapsacks here, and linked to each of them below.
1. The colour and gold clasp immediately sold me on this Sophie Hulme Box Flap Rucksack.

3. Matt & Nat's quality and price point are hard to match, which helps explain why most of their backpacks from this season are sold out. Nevertheless, there's a few left online, and I had to link to one of my favourites: the Brave Backpack in Champagne.
4. For a more casual look, I love this Marc Jacobs Preppy Legend Backpack.
5. I'm a huge fan of this Derek Lam 10 Crosby Mercer Backpack, because of the way it opens from the top. Plus, it's on sale right now on Shopbop!
6. This elegant Prisma Skeletal Backpack by Alexander Wang is the ultimate must-have for the posh jetsetter.
7. This leather Student Pack Tribe from Roots has enough space for all your carry-on items and comes in a beautiful soft grey colour.
8. While I've always been a Tory Burch fan, I'm especially besotted with her bags these days, and this Brody Backpack is no exception.
